How to renew Istimara online?

Renewing Istimara (Vehicle Registration) Online

Renewing your Istimara or vehicle registration is essential to maintain up-to-date documents. Here’s how to do it online through Absher, along with important details and considerations:

Keep in mind that a fine of SR 1,000 to SR 2,000 is imposed for refusing to present Istimara upon the request of an official.

Renewal Requirements:

  • Istimara renewal is possible only within 180 days before its expiry.
  • Pay the Istimara renewal fee, which is SR 300.
  • Ensure you have a valid Fahas (MVPI) inspection. Check Fahas validity online.
  • Possess valid third-party or comprehensive insurance coverage.

Important Note: During the COVID-19 lockdown, Istimara renewal without Fahas was permitted. However, this is no longer the case. Attempting to renew without Fahas will result in the following message: “The inspection certificate of the vehicle is invalid. The VRR of the vehicle cannot be continued. Please visit inspection offices to update the inspection certificate.”
