Passing the Fahas or MVPI Test in Saudi Arabia

To successfully pass the Motor Vehicle Periodic Inspection (MVPI) test, follow these steps:

  3. Bring all necessary documents, such as vehicle registration and identification, to the inspection center.

Validity of Fahas or MVPI Certificate

The Fahas or MVPI certificate is valid for one Hijri year, which is approximately 355 days. For example, if you pass the test on 20 Jan 2XX1, the certificate remains valid until 10 Jan 2XX2.

Checking Fahas Validity Online

To check the validity of your Fahas certificate online using Absher:

  1. Log in to your Absher account at https://absher.sa.
  2. Navigate to the “Vehicles” tab.
  3. Select “Vehicles Management.”
  4. Choose the relevant vehicle and scroll down to view the Fahas expiry date.
  5. The inspection expiry date displayed indicates the Fahas validity period.

Fahas for Brand New Cars

According to Article 26 of traffic rules, Fahas for brand new cars is required after three years of registration. If you attempt to check the Fahas validity online for a new car, the Absher account will show a blank space in front of the Inspection Date.

Alternative Method: Checking Fahas Validity on Paper

If you cannot check the Fahas validity online, you can find it printed on the Fahas certificate. The validity date is written below the header in the Hijri calendar format.
