Procedure to Obtain Iqama for Newborn Baby in Saudi Arabia
Requirements for Obtaining Iqama for Newborn Baby:
- Birth Certificate for the newborn
- Baby’s Passport
- Valid Insurance in the system
- Payment of Dependent Fee
- Photographs of the newborn
- Father’s passport copy
- Mother’s passport copy
- Father’s Iqama copy
- Mother’s Iqama copy
- Baby’s vaccination card
- SR 1,000 fine for applications after 12 months of birth (only applicable for babies born in Saudi Arabia)
- Original Marriage Certificate attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (if applicable)
Additional Requirements for Babies Born Outside Saudi Arabia:
- Passport page with the border number
- Copy of the visa stamped on the passport/on-arrival visa
- Payment of SR 2,000 Iqama fee
- Polio immunization certificate from the hospital
Step 1: Application Process
- Log in to your Absher account.
- Navigate to the “Services” tab under “My Services”.
- Select the “Passports” option, then click on “Tawasul”.
- Click on the “New Request” button.
- Choose the appropriate service based on the birth location.
- Fill in the necessary details and attach the required documents in a single PDF file.
Step 2: Handling Rejection Reasons
- If rejected, address issues with insurance linkage, attachment problems, or name discrepancies on documents.
Step 3: Printing the Iqama
- Upon receiving a notification of request status, log in to your Absher account.
- Go to “General Services”, then “Passports”, and select “Tawasul”.
- Choose “Inquire for Requests” to check status.
- If accepted, visit Jawazat office with necessary documents to obtain the Iqama.
Note Regarding Final Exit without Newborn Iqama:
- Newborns delivered in Saudi Arabia cannot obtain a final exit visa without an Iqama if both parents hold residency in Saudi Arabia.
