Bringing Your Newborn to Saudi Arabia: Procedures and Guidelines
Pre-Conditions:
- Child must be less than 12 months old.
- Both parents possess valid Iqamas.
- Mother holds a valid exit reentry visa.
On-Arrival Visa for Newborn Baby:
- Ensure pre-conditions are met.
- Required Documents for on-arrival visa:
- Newborn baby’s birth certificate.
- Newborn baby’s vaccination card.
- Copies of parents’ Iqamas and passports.
- Valid Exit Reentry Visa of the mother.
Important Guidelines:
- Preferably book via Saudi Airlines or a Gulf airline.
- Immigration officer at the airport will verify documents and stamp passport.
- Visa is linked with father’s Iqama; mother can request linking to her Iqama.
- On-arrival visa is free.
- Apply for the newborn’s Iqama.
Applying for Visa for Newborn Baby:
- Ensure pre-conditions are met.
- Required Documents:
- Newborn Baby’s original passport.
- Birth Certificate attested by Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Vaccination Card.
- 2 photos with a white background.
- Mother’s original passport and valid exit reentry visa.
- Copies of parents’ Iqamas and father’s passport.
- Complete address of father’s employer in Saudi Arabia.
- Absher paper with Iqama expiry for both parents.
- Important Guidelines:
- Pay a fee of around SR 100 for visa stamping.
- Once stamped, child can travel within visa validity.
- Apply for the newborn’s Iqama.
Permanent Family Visa for Newborn Baby:
- If mother already holds permanent family visa:
- No need for a new visa; submit application through agent for passport stamping.
- Attach mother’s passport with existing visa stamp.
Family Visit Visa for Newborn Baby:
- If mother already holds family visit visa:
- Apply for Family Visit Visa in Saudi Arabia.
- Stamp family visit visa on newborn baby’s passport.
