How to pay a family visit-visa extension fee

Guide summary: Pay a family visit-visa extension charge only against the correct visitor record through an authorised Saudi government-payment channel. Keep the receipt, then complete the separate extension request in the host’s Absher account. A successful payment does not extend the visitor’s permitted stay.

  • Check eligibility and timing before paying.
  • Use the amount generated by the live government-payment service.
  • After submitting the extension, verify the new permitted-stay date in the official record.

Check the extension can proceed first

This is a payment guide, not a full eligibility guide. Before creating or paying an invoice, read our family visit-visa extension guide and check the named visitor in Absher. The official extension service has conditions concerning the visitor’s location, passport, insurance, timing and other government records. Paying early cannot make an ineligible case eligible.

Make sure you are looking at the visitor’s current permitted stay, not merely the visa’s last date for entry. These dates serve different purposes. The Saudi citizen or resident host should use the visitor record held under their own authorised Absher account.

Use the official amount

Absher requires payment of the visit-visa extension charge through the government-payment system of Saudi banks. Saudi Central Bank describes SADAD as a national system that connects invoice issuers with banks and licensed payment channels. The bank’s wording and screen layout may differ, so this guide does not reproduce one bank’s menu or screenshots.

Use the amount returned for the visitor and transaction in the live channel. Do not transfer money to an individual, pay from a link in an unsolicited message or copy an amount from an old screenshot. If the bank returns no matching liability, do not choose a similar-looking service simply to force payment.

Practical payment steps

  1. Open the official record. Sign in to the host’s Absher account and confirm the visitor’s name, passport or border details, visa type and present permitted-stay date.
  2. Resolve prerequisites. Check that the extension service is available for this visitor and that any required medical insurance covers the intended period. If Absher shows a block, deal with that issue before paying.
  3. Use an authorised banking channel. Sign in independently to your Saudi bank’s official app, internet banking or another authorised SADAD channel. Open its government-payments area and choose the visit-visa extension transaction shown by the bank.
  4. Identify the visitor exactly. Enter the identity, border, visa or other reference requested by the live service. Never substitute the host’s number if the form asks for the visitor’s number.
  5. Review before authorising. Compare the returned beneficiary and transaction details with Absher. Pay only when they match, using the amount displayed by the official channel.
  6. Keep evidence. Save the receipt, payment reference, date and amount. A debit from the account is evidence of payment, not evidence that the extension has been granted.
  7. Submit the extension. Return to Absher. For a family visitor, use Family Members Services, then the visit-visa extension service displayed in the account. Select the visitor, review the declaration and submit.
  8. Verify the result. Reopen the visitor’s official record and confirm that the extension succeeded and the permitted-stay date changed. Do this before making travel or overstaying decisions.

If the payment is not recognised

First compare the identity number, service type, payment reference and amount on the receipt with the intended visitor. Allow the normal processing time shown by the bank or Absher, then check again without paying twice. If the bank shows a completed payment but Absher does not recognise it, contact the bank with the transaction reference and use official Absher support for the immigration-service record.

When to get help

Seek official help promptly if the extension window is close to closing, the visitor is missing from the host’s account, insurance is not recognised, the payment attaches to the wrong record or Absher does not show a successful extension. Contact the Saudi bank about payment execution; contact Absher or the General Directorate of Passports about the visa record. UK2KSA cannot correct a government payment or approve an extension.
