Preparing for Final Exit from Saudi Arabia
Before requesting your sponsor to issue a final exit visa from Saudi Arabia, it’s essential to complete certain tasks. These tasks include both mandatory requirements as per Saudi law and optional preparations.
Things to do before the final exit
Mandatory Tasks
Before asking your employer in Saudi Arabia to issue a final exit visa, ensure completion of the following mandatory tasks:
Payment of Dependent Fee:
- Clear the dependent fee payment within the stipulated 60-day period from the date of final exit visa issuance.
Resignation:
- Submit a resignation with an appropriate notice period to your employer.
Settle Traffic Violation Fines:
- Ensure all outstanding traffic violation fines are paid.
Vehicle Management:
- Sell your vehicle or arrange for its ownership transfer.
Property Arrangements:
- Sell or transfer any real estate property registered in your name.
Mandatory Tasks Before Final Exit
Ensure completion of the following mandatory tasks before requesting a final exit visa from your sponsor:
Dependent Fee Payment:
- Clear the dependent fee payment within 60 days from the date of final exit visa issuance.
Resignation Process:
- Submit resignation with an appropriate notice period to your employer.
Traffic Violation Fines:
- Settle all outstanding traffic violation fines.
Vehicle Management:
- Arrange for the sale or transfer of ownership of your vehicle.
Real Estate Property:
- Sell or transfer any real estate property registered in your name.
Optional Preparations Before Final Exit
While your final exit visa can be issued after completing the mandatory steps mentioned earlier, it’s advisable to consider the following optional tasks before requesting a final exit from Saudi Arabia:
Obtain Police Clearance Certificate:
- Acquire a police clearance certificate from Saudi Arabia.
Transfer End of Service Benefits:
- Ensure the transfer of End of Service Benefits to your bank account in your home country.
Post Final Exit Tasks
After the final exit is issued, refrain from leaving Saudi Arabia until you have completed the following tasks:
Attestation of Government Documents:
- Have all documents issued by any government department in Saudi Arabia attested by MOFA and then your embassy/consulate.
Attestation of Educational Documents:
- Get all educational documents issued by any Saudi school or university attested by MOFA and then your embassy/consulate.
Clear Outstanding Bills:
- Pay off all postpaid internet/mobile bills and electricity bills. Note that while the Saudi Gazette reported linkage of final exit issuance with the settlement of all dues by Jawazat, it may not be fully implemented yet.
Additional Tasks After Final Exit
After finalizing your exit procedures, ensure completion of the following additional tasks:
Cancel Ejar Contract:
- If desired, cancel your Ejar contract. Alternatively, negotiate with the landlord to continue the lease by paying for additional months.
Disconnect Utilities:
- Disconnect postpaid mobile/landline and internet connections to terminate services.
Clear Financial Obligations:
- Pay off any outstanding loans and credit card bills. Refer to the article “Final Exit with an unpaid loan” for further guidance.
Close Bank Account:
- Close your bank account before departing from Saudi Arabia on the final exit.
Arrange Luggage Transportation:
- As flights typically allow 46 Kg of luggage per passenger, consider utilizing cargo services to send your belongings from Saudi Arabia.
Obtain Transfer of Residence Letter:
- Obtain a transfer of residence letter from your embassy or consulate for administrative purposes.
