Guide summary: Before a final-exit visa is issued, check the official Absher conditions and resolve any system blocks. Separately, close your employment, housing, banking and family arrangements. After issuance, verify every visa detail and leave within the period shown. Not every practical task is a legal condition, so this checklist keeps official prerequisites and personal administration separate.
First: agree the employment and departure plan
Discuss your intended final working day with your employer and follow the notice and termination terms that apply to your contract. Ask for a written breakdown of final salary, unused annual leave, end-of-service benefits where applicable, deductions and the expected payment date. Keep copies of your contract, payslips and correspondence before access to workplace systems ends.
If family members are sponsored under your record, plan their travel and immigration status at the same time. A person must not simply assume that a dependant’s status will resolve automatically when the main worker leaves.
Official checks before visa issuance
The exact issuer and route depend on the worker category. Establishment owners can issue a worker’s final exit through Absher Business; individual or family services may use a different Absher area. The official Absher guide lists system conditions that can include:
- the person being inside Saudi Arabia when the visa is issued;
- no other valid visa already recorded for that person;
- payment of recorded traffic violations;
- sufficient passport validity and required biometric records;
- no vehicle remaining registered in the person’s name; and
- no unresolved violation connected with an earlier unused visa.
These are immigration-system checks, not a complete life-admin list. Review the current service page for your case rather than relying on old menu instructions or a fixed validity period quoted elsewhere.
Practical tasks to complete
- Housing: give notice under the tenancy, agree the handover, record meter readings and keep proof of deposit settlement. Use the relevant official tenancy platform where the contract is registered.
- Utilities and telecoms: settle or transfer accounts and save final statements. Do not cancel a mobile number too early if it receives banking or government verification codes.
- Vehicle: complete a lawful sale, transfer or other disposal before departure and verify that registration has left your name.
- Banking and debt: ask each bank how to settle finance, cards and standing instructions. Download statements and retain access long enough to receive final employment payments. Closing an account is a practical decision, not stated here as a universal final-exit condition.
- Health and education: collect medical records, prescriptions, vaccination records, school reports and transfer documents.
- Belongings: check your own airline’s baggage allowance. Obtain written terms and customs information before using cargo services.
- Documents: keep copies of Iqamas, passports, visas, employment certificates, rental closure and important receipts in secure storage.
After the visa is issued
- Check names, passport details, family members and the final date for departure in the official record.
- Do not assume the departure window from an old article. Use the visa and current Absher instructions.
- Confirm flights only after checking the status. Allow time to fix an error before the intended departure.
- Carry passports and any travel documents required by the airline and destination country.
- Retain evidence of final payments and your departure after leaving.
When to get help
Ask the employer or sponsor to investigate an Absher error relating to a worker record. Use Absher support or Jawazat for an immigration-status problem, and seek qualified Saudi employment or legal advice for disputed wages, debt, custody or sponsorship. UK2KSA provides general information and cannot issue or cancel a final-exit visa.
