How to check your available government-payment balance in Absher

Guide summary: Absher’s official service is called Query Available Funds. Absher describes it as an inquiry into funds available in a user’s service account. The result is not money stored on an Iqama: an Iqama is an identity document and its number may be used to associate a resident with a government-service payment record. A displayed balance also does not, by itself, prove that a separate application, renewal or visa transaction has been completed.

Last checked: 6 September 2026.

What the balance means

Saudi government charges can be paid through authorised electronic payment channels. Absher provides an inquiry so a citizen or resident can see funds available in the relevant government-service account. Informal phrases such as “money on the Iqama” or “Iqama funds” are misleading. The plastic or digital Iqama does not hold cash, operate like a wallet or establish ownership of a bank account.

Think of the Iqama number as an identity or beneficiary reference used in the payment process. The available-funds result relates to the service account shown by Absher. It remains separate from the ordinary balance in your bank current account.

What the result does not prove

  • It does not prove that an Iqama has been issued or renewed.
  • It does not prove that an exit/re-entry visa, driving licence or vehicle transaction is complete.
  • It does not replace the status page or confirmation for the government service you intended to use.
  • It does not show that every amount visible can be used for every government service.
  • It should not be treated as evidence that an employer, sponsor or bank has completed its part of a transaction.

If you have paid for a specific service, check both records: first the payment receipt or bank transaction, then the status of the actual service in the responsible authority’s official system.

How to make the official inquiry

  1. Go directly to Absher: official service portal or use the official Absher app.
  2. Sign in to Absher Individuals using your own account and complete the authentication requested.
  3. Use Absher’s search or Services Guide to find Query Available Funds. The exact menu position can change, so searching by the official service name is safer than following an old sequence of screenshots.
  4. Open the service and review the identity or beneficiary details shown before submitting the inquiry.
  5. Read the result by the labels displayed in the live service. Save a receipt or screenshot only if you need it for a query, and store it securely.

Absher’s public documentation confirms the service name and says it is available to citizens and residents. It describes the subject as the user’s service account; it does not describe a cash balance held on a residence card.

Read categories cautiously

The inquiry may separate amounts by government sector or service grouping. Use the wording displayed in your own result. Do not assume that an amount under a broad label such as passports, traffic, vehicles or sponsored persons can automatically be moved to another category or consumed by an unrelated transaction.

This guide deliberately does not publish a fixed table claiming that each category always covers a particular fee. Labels, allocation rules and available transactions can change. The controlling information is the live Absher result, the responsible authority’s service page and the payment details shown by your authorised bank.

If you expected a payment but see no usable balance

  • Check that the bank receipt carries the correct beneficiary identity and service details.
  • Check whether the intended government transaction has already consumed the payment.
  • Compare the payment status with the separate application or renewal status.
  • Do not pay again merely because a screen has not updated.
  • Ask the bank or responsible government authority to trace the payment using its official reference.

Refunds and security

If an amount is genuinely unused, ask the bank or payment channel through which it was paid for the current refund route, and confirm the relevant government service has not already reserved or consumed it. Do not send money to an individual who claims they can “release Iqama funds”. Never disclose your Absher password, bank password, full card details or one-time code.

When to get help

Use Absher’s official support channels when the inquiry shows the wrong identity, an unexplained service-account balance or a result that conflicts with the responsible authority’s record. Contact your bank through its authorised app, website or telephone number when the issue is a debit, payment reference or refund request. For an employer-paid residence or work transaction, ask the employer’s authorised HR or government-relations team for the transaction reference rather than relying on a verbal assurance.
